Acting
An acting teacher is someone who helps people to hone their acting skills and develop their full potential. There are various types of acting teachers – some work independently, some work at conservatories where two to four year acting courses are offered, and others work at universities. While many of an acting teacher's students will be people who are interested in becoming actors and actresses, many others will simply be people who want to improve their skills at communication or just have some fun. Whatever the case, acting teachers will help their students feel good about themselves, open up with others and improve their skills at communication.

Acting teachers who work at a university will often have many responsibilities beyond teaching their classes; they will probably be expected to write papers, publish works, help put on shows, and teach other classes in the department. The job of an acting teacher at a university is more generalized than that of an acting teacher at a conservatory, who may do nothing but teach acting to students, or a personal acting teacher who may be able to make a living based solely on independent teaching if his / her reputation is strong enough.

How does an acting teacher train students? One of the most popular methods is the “inside-out” method, where students begin by working out the internal thoughts and feelings of the character, then use those impressions to direct their actions. Other acting teachers have a more outward directed, physical approach to acting. There is also method acting, which involves doing the same things that a character would do in real life to help improve one's sense of the character and stay in character.
Cities such as Los Angeles and New York are the most popular places to learn acting. Both cities are involved in acting related industries, with Los Angeles leaning more towards film (with Hollywood being right there and the majority of all film studios) and New York leaning more towards the stage (with Broadway and off-Broadway plays being a popular attraction of the city). Because either of these cities are a great place to land an acting teacher job, search terms such as acting teacher nyc, acting teacher la, acting teacher los angeles and acting teacher new york are popular ones online.
