| Personal Services |
|
Personal services are services that meet an individual's needs but are not limited to a specific category or area. There are many personal services needed whether they are in a crisis, or need help meeting a need that they have no skill in or need help improving in, or for luxury. They can be costly, or they can be affordable. A simple service is personal errands, in which a person with a disability, age restrictions or even time constraints hires a person to run errands for them. The errands can be running to the post office, paying bills at locations, or doing grocery shopping. |

| Other personal services that people seek in a time of crisis include bail bonds, or pay-day loans. A bail bondsman acts as a surety and pledge of money or property as bail for the appearance of a criminal defendant in court. This allows a person to go home after an arrest until their trial date. Pay-day loans are offered to people who find themselves in financial crisis but don't have a way of filling that need in the immediate because their payday doesn't occur for a few days or weeks. The service loans the client cash until their next pay day and charges interest. |

| Personal assistants' duties have expanded as business environments require more responsibilities. Personal assistants act as secretaries and screen calls, check emails, review documentation, do research, schedule reservations, book meetings, pick up dry cleaning, attend negotiations, brief journalists, schedule travel and more. Their jobs require them to have excellent organizational skills, great tact, and diplomacy and be an effective communicator. They also must be highly trusted for confidential matters. They work hand-in-hand with their employer and must be able to often anticipate what the employer needs before they are asked to fill a certain role or need. |

Another popular personal service is a personal trainer, which is a person either employed by a fitness center or gym, or works independently. The fitness professional develops and trains a client seeking to obtain a goal in the area of wait lost and/or muscle tone. The trainer works one-on-one with the client, teaching them proper exercise instruction. Personal trainers focus on five key components of fitness which are muscular strength, muscular endurance, body composition, cardio endurance and flexibility. Working with a personal trainer not only can help one look better and grow stronger, but also improve their health and longevity. |

Other personal services include tailors or dressmakers, which are responsible for hemming or mending clothes, suits and dresses. Hair stylists and barbers are another. The frequency in which people go to them varies, but they help give an individual a desired look that they cannot obtain on their own. Manicurists trim, polish and paint fingernails. Cooking instructors provide individual cooking lessons. Other services include personal shoppers – whether it's clothes or food; portrait painters, counselors, life coaches, riding instructors, art instructors, music teachers, mechanical services and landscaping services. There is a service for nearly every aspect, and with the Internet, they are easily found.
