Security
Security is what provides protection against danger, loss, and criminals. Security is a the state similar to that of safety. The difference between the two is that security is what offers protection from outside dangers, thus bringing safety. Individuals or actions that put that protection in danger are parties in breach of security. Security is also a condition resulting from established maintenance and protective measures that ensure there will be no violation from hostile acts or influences. In the case of classified information, security prevents unauthorized parties from accessing sensitive material. Military units provide their country national security.
There are many categories and classifications of security. Network security, which protects a network of computers from viruses and hackers, falls under the IT realm. This can also include wireless security, and computer security, which also can be set up on individual computers and protect from harmful files that can be unintentionally downloaded from the Internet. These systems detect a breach in the system before it happens and sends a message warning the operator not to open the file. Other computer security systems search the system and detect bugs or viruses and then have the capability of deleting them.
Physical security involves safeguarding a home, a location such as a shopping center, an airport or a store or bank. This security is provided in two ways, both physical and technological. In the case of home security, security surveillance and security systems are set in place using wiring and security alarms and possibly security cameras. When an intruder attempts entry, the security alarm goes off and signals the breach to the security company and home owner. Physical security also is provided by human beings, or security guards or body guards, who watch for danger and take action to prevent violation of safety.
Political security comes in the form of international, national, homeland security. The military offers security on both the national and international levels. Intelligence agencies also help with this monitoring the actions of would be enemies of the state and that would put the country at risk and take the necessary measures to prevent attacks. Public security is provided by law enforcement officers, who patrol roads and public places, keeping a watchful eye for violators of the law whether intentional or unintentional and enforce the law to ensure security and safety. This includes home invaders and traffic violators, who put others at risk.
Individuals of high profile seek to take security measures by hiring a staff with the goal of providing security solely in mind. These individuals, known as bodyguards, accompany their employer where ever they go, some times preceding them to ensure the surroundings are safe, and thwart intrusions. In the case of celebrities, security teams try to keep heckling fans and pestering paparazzi at a safe distance. In the case of a high-ranking political figure, the security team includes members that remain by the official's side and others are set up at various points to spot threats before they occur.
